Pressured or stuck?

Do you find that you’re ‘shoulding’ yourself lately?

I should be doing this. I should be more productive. I should be taking better care of myself. I should not have eaten that piece of cake. Or even... I should not be feeling happy.

We have all been there.

Particularly because as we spend more and more time in our homes, our mind naturally tends to go in self-critical loops.

Why?
Because we are in a time of ongoing collective trauma. A LOT is going on. TOO much is going on.

Plus, there is not a definite end in sight to this pandemic.

Our primal instinct is to CHECK-OUT during extreme levels of stress.

We obsessively check the news, get buried in social media, overeat, fight with our loved ones and feel exhausted.

So let’s take a deep breath here.

In today’s video I will talk about how to stay with-in. How to stay in the moments where we so desperately want to leave our homes, our emotions, and ourselves.

You’ll also learn how to support your brain by creating predictability in your environment.

Want to learn more about navigating collective trauma?

Research shows that body-based regulation techniques help us stay regulated during stressful times. Want to learn these? You can find my interview with Emily Joy Rosen here.

Emily is the founder of the Institute for the Psychology of Eating and of Secret Keepers. She has interviewed multiple experts on this topic. Check out the free resources.

Once you’ve had a chance to watch the videos, leave a comment on my Youtube Channel and let me know how you are taking care of yourself.

With enormous love,

Nora
