Wow 🥺 It f**cking happened
When was the last time you did something B I G?
Maybe you achieved a dream...
Did something that felt impossible…
Took a leap of faith and believed in yourself…
I want to tell you about a person who did something B I G.
Someone who patiently believed in herself.
She has had a profound impact on me.
Her bravery inspires me.
Her tenacity. Her fire. Her determination.
10 years ago she moved across the ocean to the United States, not knowing a single soul.
She moved with a dream to become a psychotherapist.
She believed in herself. Believed that she could have an impact and be of service.
Here we are a decade later.
She built a business around empowerment and mental health, serving hundreds of people from all over the world.
((Yes, you obviously guessed it... it's me...))
I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge myself cause...
I am now a US citizen 🎉!
This week I passed my US Citizenship Interview. I'm overjoyed and still landing from the emotions.
It is often hard to honor oneself. To take UP that space. Something that many n'betweeners are taught not to do, it's seen as "too much", "arrogant," etc.
Yet it's important to recognize the journey.
What it took to get to where we are now.
My 10-year journey as an immigrant has been a painful experience: endless interrogation, secondary inspections, tears, anger, and so many unknowns.
This week I got my freedom.
I get to rest, I get to be proud, and I get to honor the work it took to get right here.
Now it's your turn.
I want you to think about what YOU feel most proud of?
What needs to be acknowledged within you?
Don't shy away from this moment. Allow yourself to take the space that you deserve.
Much love and gratitude,
❤️
