The danger of minimizing yourself

When do you take the time to acknowledge yourself and your growth?

The tiny moments, the seemingly small changes, the things that matter to you.

As n’betweeners, we can get into a sneaky, unhealthy habit of minimizing ourselves and our growth to the point that our transformation becomes invisible to us 🫥😮

When we stop recognizing our growth, our inner critic takes over.

👉 “I’m not making any progress,” “I’m still stuck at the same job,” “I don’t know what I’m doing.”

Let me say this loud and clear: This is *not* true. In reality, you're not allowing yourself to see the full picture of all that is happening in your life.

It’s important to take the time to actually value where you are changing instead of hyperfocusing on where you perceive there has been no change.

It is actually easier to see how things are staying the same, how we’re not moving, and think that you’re only stuck.

Our growth sneaks up on us.

Think about where you were a year or even six months ago. What have you learned since then? What challenges have you faced and overcome? How have you improved in your work, your relationships, or even just in how you take care of yourself?

Take the time to write these nuggets down. Don't glance over them.

This exercise is worthwhile if you put actual time and energy into it. I promise you that if you do this fully, you’ll start saying, “Wow I didn’t realize how much I’ve grown. 🥹”

Remember, these aren’t minor changes—they’re milestones worth celebrating.

When we acknowledge our growth, something magical happens. We start to build momentum. Recognizing progress fuels further progress. It’s like we’re giving ourselves a little nudge to keep going, to keep striving for more. And this doesn’t just apply to us individually—it’s true for our entire n'betweener community.

When we celebrate our collective wins, it strengthens our bonds. It reminds us that we’re all in this together, supporting each other’s journeys and cheering on each other’s successes. It’s like a positive feedback loop of good vibes, and who doesn’t want more of that?

✨ This is what happens in The nest ✨

It’s a place to be seen, understood, and cheered on.

A place to come home to. A 6-month program for n’betweeners ready to grow as a community. It’s a unique space for you to create the change you’ve been longing for. Join us January 2025.

And remember to ask yourself these questions today: “What is working in my life right now?” “Where are things flowing?”

Hugs,

Nora
