How to make your pain feel good with this simple step
Here is something I know about you: one of your gifts is holding complexity.
You have this incredible ability to understand multiple experiences at once, you see things from different angles.
But sometimes, you might get a little stuck and put on that black-or-white thinking hat.
You look to find right or wrong. You blame yourself. You say things like“I shouldn’t have said that.” Or, to avoid feeling guilt, you blame your partner, colleague or anyone other than yourself. “Why did they do that?”.
It’s easier to put the blame on one person or system than to find the gray. I mean come on, who likes being wrong?
It’s a natural part of being an n’betweener. I know you do it to find relief. Blaming relieves us from feeling the weight of our responsibility..
But here is the thing, you’re running from the juicy feels.
You’re escaping the discomfort of knowing alllll these experiences. So can I ask you something? Can you allow a little more space for the complexity?
Omnicron is spreading…fast. Like wildfire fast. How are your holiday plans holding up?
As we cycle through yet another pandemic holiday season, notice if you feel the urge to make it “this should be this way” or “another depressing COVID holiday.”
Rather than it having to be one or the other let it be multiple things at once.
👉 Take this Step: What if you gave yourself permission to experience the fullness of it all.
Take a moment to pause. You may be surprised how fulfilling that complexity can be.. Who knows, you might even find a nicely wrapped gift among the whirlwind of chaos..
It’s okay to feel it all. The good, the bad and everything n’between.
Let’s face it, the past two years have put us in a lot of difficult situations. Situations you thought you couldn’t get past, but you did the damn thing again and again.
One step at a time my dear. Each time you feel overwhelmed, take a hot sec to look at the grand picture. How can allow yourself feel it all?
Feel the gratitude and the pain. Feel the laughter and the sadness. Feel the beauty and the horror.
You’ve got this.
Happy Solstice!
Sending you a hug
