Fighting the urge to move SLOW?

How are ya feeling?

Has the seasonal depression kicked in? Are you resisting the urge to crawl into bed at 7 PM?

With the holidays approaching, it is easy for some to classify this as a joyous time of year. But with early darkness, colder weather, social pressure in the middle of a pandemic, we can be left feeling exhausted.

I notice myself embodying the elements outside. I feel like crumbling up like a dead leaf. I feel a darkness in me like the one that glooms outside my window every day at 5 PM. Have you been feeling that way too?

Many of us are experiencing the effects of seasonal depression on top of the looming holiday stress.

It’s okay to feel sad, tired, or “lazy”. How do you listen to your body?

Can you honor the slowness that accompanies this time of year?

Maybe taking time to rest. Roll around in your bed. Cozy up and read a book. That is definitely a necessary use of time.

You may be fighting the urge to move slow by keeping yourself busy with work, plans, and activities, and if that works for you, GREAT! But, remember that you can take a moment of stillness.

You know yourself better than anyone, so trust your body and honor its intuition.

Remember, you’re not alone n'betweener. I’m here.

Warm hygge-hugs

Nora
