You can be both, meet n’between, dance all night
“It should cost a billion to look this good.”
When do you feel your most powerful self?
I don’t know about you, but this week when I’m biking in the streets of Copenhagen, I have ONE song on repeat.
“Pure/Honey” from Beyoncé's newest album
The iconic ballroom song “Cunty” from Kevin Aviance is sampled in it.
The dance-music legend calls it a love letter to the Black gay community.
A lot can be said about Beyoncé (and her new album).
But one thing is crystal clear: Queen Bey does let oppressive messages dim her light.
She boldly believes in herself.
So my question to you is: Do you?
When do you boldly put yourself out there?
As n’betweeners, many of us fall victim to perfectionism. Every little thing has to be right or we’ll freak. We are underestimated so we overwork. We overthink. We overcompensate.
So we get S-T-U-C-K, instead of putting ourselves out there.
Obsessing over small matters, afraid of upsetting someone, replaying scenarios in your head.
We want things to be done right, but it can become toxic. We harm ourselves when we fixate on what feels “wrong.”
These toxic thoughts are killing your potential
Are you tired? You might feel trapped in a trauma-fog. Well, that fog has got a name and it’s called Internalized Oppression.
