Turning burdens into blessings

Are you currently feeling burdened?

It feels like there is something weighing you down. Holding you back. It’s a frustrating feeling and it can be quite defeating.

As we experience hardship in any capacity, it’s easy to ask, why me? Why do I deserve this?

How am I going to get through this?

Struggle always comes with some sort of benefit.

When we are experiencing a difficult time in our life, it’s hard to realize the blessing we are being gifted. The lesson we are being taught. The message we need to hear.

Life often catches us by surprise. This past year has proved that. A pandemic, a fight for racial justice, lost jobs, lost loved ones, new ways of living. And that’s reality. We get rejected, we have to take on new responsibilities or change our course completely.

When we feel that our experiences are burdensome, we are clouded from believing that there is something greater at play. That the burden can actually be a blessing.

Hindsight is 20/20. We see more clearly in retrospect. What we once believed to be an obstacle is now a stepping stone that leads us towards a greater path. And I know, it’s hard to realize that in the moment.

Here is how you can turn burdens into blessings:

Look for signs along the way.

You know those little signs to ensure you are on the right path.

That may be a conversation, your favorite number, a song, a powerful word or even an animal.

I recently asked to see a peacock, and one really did appear before me. Actually four of them.

Life isn’t easy. But the small moments, the little signs can be so reassuring.

It’s okay to feel the heaviness. We don’t need to glamorize our struggle, but don’t dwell in the darkness too long.

I know there is a blessing on the way for you .

Realize that your struggle has purpose. Your pain has intent. Make the most of your situation and be grateful for what you do have.

I’m wishing you blessings on blessings.
