You're working too hard!

Work, work, work, work, work, work…

I’m not talking about your day job.

I’m talking about all the ways you overwork by over-explaining yourself, people-pleasing, trying to compensate for feeling like an imposter and the list goes on and on and on.

Yea sorry to say EVEN when you think you don’t work, you’re probably stiiiiiiill working.

So what do I mean when I say WORK?

When living with internalized oppression, we learn to constantly examine ourselves and our self-worth.

The obsessive negative or shameful thoughts spiral: “Did I do enough?”, “Should I have said that?”, “What will they think of me?”.

What do I have to say about that?

Blablablabla…. stop the noise!

That poor nervous system wants a break from the oppressive systems.

It wants an exhale from all the effort and pressure you put on yourself to be whatever you think you should be.

I don’t know about you, but I sometimes notice that when I finally let myself rest, I somehow manage to find something to self-criticize or obsess around.

So how can you give that sweet nervous system a break today?

Move towards unapologetically being who you are rather than working to be someone you’re not.

Let’s stop the work work work work work work...

Basta. Stop. Done. Fini!

XO

Nora

PS. Is it just me or are you too hearing Rihanna work work work work playing in your head?
